Greek lamb burger
Incorporating some lovely, traditional Greek flavors, this isn't your ordinary burger.
Method
-
Step 1
To make the tzatziki, mix the cucumber into the yogurt with the chopped mint and a little salt.
-
Step 2
Mix the onion, breadcrumbs, spices, garlic and parsley into the lamb mince and season with salt and pepper. Add the egg and mix in, then shape into 6 burgers.
-
Step 3
Heat a griddle pan on the stove ready for cooking the burgers. Toast the burger buns on the griddle first.
-
Step 4
Tear the little gem lettuce into individual leaves and slice the tomato into 6 slices.
-
Step 5
Brush the burgers with a little oil and cook on the griddle for about 5 minutes each side, until cooked all the way through.
-
Step 6
Serve in the buns with the tzatziki, tomatoes and little gem leaves with the feta cheese crumbled on top and a few extra mint leaves for garnish.
Nutrition
The tzatziki in this recipe is a tasty, healthier and lower fat alternative to the traditional mayo in your burger.
Remember to include plenty of lettuce and tomato to get one of your 5 a day.
