Not only does the charity encourage and motivate individuals but it also builds confidence and helps develop skills.The highly acclaimed awards celebrate and reward inspiring people, organisations and initiatives across the hospitality, leisure and tourism sectors.Claire Aylward, Joint Managing Director of Harrison Catering Services enthused ‘It’s an honour to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award. It’s so important to give people the opportunity to experience first-hand what it’s like to work in the catering and hospitality industry and work experience provides the perfect opportunity to do so. ‘It’s a real privilege to work with The Springboard programme as it listens and adapts to the needs of the students and organisations involved. Communication is key to ensure that students’ needs are met and engagement with the delivery teams is vital for success. By personally visiting each site we can offer guidance and support to the work experience Manager in preparation for students before they commence placements. Disability awareness training is also provided to teams who work with the Camden Society and this added support means that teams are in the best position to deliver a great experience for students. I’m delighted to say that many of the students go on to take up permanent positions.’
