Parents join pupils for lunch in Maidenhead
- Harrison
To celebrate National School Meals Week, parents and grandparents of pupils at Furze Platt Junior School were invited to join their children for lunch yesterday. Furze Platt Junior is one of the 48 schools in our Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Local Authority contract, which we have run since 2005.
Everyone tucked into beef lasagne with crusty bread and a choice of vegetables or salad bar, and a choice of sponge cake, cheese and crackers or fresh fruit for dessert. Everyone certainly enjoyed their lunch, and 39 mums, dads and grandparents attended, with an increase in meal numbers from 65 to 151.
Chef Manager Jane Van Renen used to run her own catering company and is a parent with children at Furze Platt Infant School. She joined us in July and has done fantastically well in getting the Harrison message across so far!
