Deputy PM Showcases Free School Meals | Harrison Catering
- Harrison
Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg launched the universal infant free school meals programme on 2nd September at Clapham Manor Primary School in London.
As the school’s caterer, Harrison Catering Services was delighted to be able to support Headteacher Brian Hazell and the school in hosting Mr Clegg.
Harrison’s Director of Food and Service Mark Stower even had the Deputy PM chopping vegetables in the kitchen!
Mr Clegg visited with pupils, who enthusiastically discussed their favourite foods and what they like best about their school lunches.
In interviews with BBC, ITV and Sky, Mr Clegg spoke about the positive benefits of providing healthy meals to all pupils up to age seven, including improved classroom performance and the sense of working together that everyone sitting down to a meal together will foster. He also pointed out how the programme will encourage a commitment to healthier eating and save families money.
